Comments and explanations regarding Server Statistics

Week of 19th August 1995:
The Hits have dropped this week due to technical changes that we made to the server that caused it to go down or hang without notice.This has now been fixed.

Week of 9th September 1995:
Power Failure in area. System down for half hour 6th of September
Server down from 9.40 am to 12.30pm EST due to unexpected hardware problem on 7th.
Returning sites average 400 to 500 a day, new sites average 250 to 300 a day.
Business classifieds continue to show good progress.

11-9-95
Server down for 4 hours due to Internet Access provider/switch problem.

13-9-95
Slow response times due to Bell/Fonorola problems. Bell system down from approximately 12 PM to 9 AM on the 14th. No accesses recorded.

21-11-95
Server down from 21-11-95 5 AM EST to 22-11-95 8.30PM . The longest downtime recorded so far. The Linux Operating system crashed and restores took longer than expected. Alos upgraded the Linux system to a later version. To avoid this in future a second redundant hard drive is going to be installed with the Operating system. The first hits were recorded within 5 seconds of the server being restarted.
