Love Truck

Love Truck

He caught her gaze across the room, his heart did start to flutter
her gorgeous looks did melt the cold like a hot knife in butter

So enthralled was he all he could do was sit and stare
but alas his curiosity he could no more bear

Rising from his seat he went to her through the bustling crowd
all the while it seemed as though he was walking on a cloud

When he got to her he sidled up said "Hi my name is Fred"
she looked at he with pretty eyes and said "Drop dead"

He felt as though he had been hit in the head with a hockey puck
but that's what happens when you crash the love truck

Reason for writing:

I wrote this poem as part of a college paper I was writing on Infatuation.
It won big points with the prof and helped me to an A+ in the course. I
enjoy writing short verse and will often pen lines while I sit in class.
I hope somebody out there enjoys this. Maybe I'll submit more later.
