On the edge of darkness

by David Feldman - Not entered

On the edge of happiness I
				Sat.
Staring into the sun lit by candles.
	I felt my soul burn.

On the pier of perfection I
				Waited.
Wondering if the sun was the candles
	Or the candles, the sun.
	I felt my soul burn.

Over the border of prosperity I
				 Looked.
Watching the candles burn into nothingness.
	I felt my soul burn.

Into a land of promise I
				 Gazed.
	Noticing the sun shone there.
	I felt my soul burn.

But I could only see by moonlight.

Reason for writing:

Just sitting here thinking, I wrote the thing.
I think it has something to do with my desire to
accomplish things, but sometimes my innsbilies to
do them.
