Once

by Alyssa Sandoval - Not entered

Once we were best of friends,
It seemed our good times would never end.
Once we could laugh and joke around,
Now to each other we hardly utter a sound.
Once we shared our thoughts and memories,
Now alone, I think back about the way things used to be.
Once we used to touch with warmth and care,
Now I reach out for you only to find you're not there.
Once with such tenderness we would kiss,
Now I thats the one thing I find that I mostly miss.
Once we were like lovers with the intensity so strong,
So why then have things for us turned out so wrong?
Once I could count on you to always be there,
Now I stand alone and face despair.
Once I felt such great love for you,
Now I wonder if those feelings can stay true.
