TREES

by CANCER - Not entered

                 TREES

Standing tall and barren
Are the trees;
A single brown leaf
Hanging high in the oak...
The wind whistles by
And the leaf lets go.
It whirls and whirls
Before it hits the ground;

The snow falls softly upon the ground,
Glistening like stars!

The lone oak standing there
Reaches out to wrap itself in WINTER!

                 -x-

Reason for writing:

    I was inspired to write this one wintery day when I took a
stroll in the woods and found the silence to be nearly
deafing, and the bare beauty of the trees, overwhelming.
