SONNET IX

IN TIMES OF MISFORTUNE ONE MAY NOT FIND

In times of misfortune one may not find
Comfort...even when some comforts be near;
For such salvations might seem too unkind
When they, as darker deceptions appear.
For the depth of our eyes may not perceive
ALL tones and shadows (when such goals be set)
Such colors revealed might only deceive
One's vision to, its short triumphs, forget!
Much that exists, to our eyes, remain blind
As complexion lends more than shades (foul or fair...);
So might perception, dim luster, at best find,
From such failure mandated, I fully despair!
This which intrigues most, might I ne'er attain...
Secrets therein...neither find or explain!!

                           -x-

Reason for writing:

    As someone once said, (I'm sorry...I can't remember who it
was exactly) the universe is not only more complicated than
we comprehend...rather, it is (most likely) more complicated
than we are ABLE TO COMPREHEND!!!!!!
