Modern Day Society

by Casey Richards - Scorpio - Not entered

Our society has been demolished,
It withered away over time.
We can’t turn on the television,
without hearing about a crime.

Kids are constantly at risk:
kidnapped, murdered or shot.
The drug dealers standing on the corner,
pressure them into drugs like pot.

Car-jackings are killing innocent people,
While gang violence is another problem we face.
Graffiti and vandalism of properties,
has made our communities look like a disgrace.

These are just a few of the problems,
facing our society today.
I don’t know if we can stop them,
Can’t we just go back to yesterday?

Reason for writing:

I wrote this poem for my high school English class and I thought that it was pretty good to share with the rest of you.
