"I"

by Patricia Biernot (Libra) - Not entered

Like a gentle spring breeze carressing your skin....
                                                    That is I
And the pounding of your heart from deep within.....
                                                    That is I
The moist dew droplets that dangle from the rose....
                                                    That is I
And the softness of candlelite as it glows.........
                                                    That is I
The radiance of sunshine that brings you cheer.....
                                                    That is I
The sparkling of a brook so crisp and clear.......
                                                    That is I
The sweet scent of a flower in early bloom.......
                                                    That is I
And the ring that shines 'round a lovers moon.....
                                                    That is I
The richness of soil that brings forth life.....
                                                    That is I
And the comforting hand that eases your strife...
                                                    That is I
The smallness of the spark that starts the fire....
                                                    That is I
The thirst quenching water that drowns your desire...
                                                    That is I
The diamonds that glisten upon sunlit snows.....
                                                    That is I
And the quietest of whispers when the wind blows....
                                                    That is I
The spectrum of colors that dazzle your eyes.....
                                                    That is I
And the part of your spirit that never dies.....
                                                    Am I...

Reason for writing:

The reason I wrote this poem is because "I" is what I try to be for the man that I love.
"I" is who any woman is and should be to the man that loves her.
