A PICTURE OF LOVE

by Ruth Ann Christopher - Not entered

You painted a smile..
  here on my face..
You painted a memory..
  no time can erase..
You painted my future..
  with new hopes and dreams..
You showed me a picture..
  of what real love means..
You painted my world..
  with awareness of you..
Please don't take it from me..
for it would paint my heart blue.

Reason for writing:

I like the above ending to this poem It leaves the thought
that things are happy and you can pretend that it stayed
happy forever. but the real ending to this poem goes:
But you tore up the pictures..and painted my heart blue.
