The Rocking-Chair

by Jeff Sevigny Leo - Not entered

I am so happy to see you
After a long day of work
You are the only one who seems to understand
That I need to relax
With you next to me

I am going to take you anywhere
From the living-room in the winter
To the cottage on the porch in the summer
I will drink a beer in your company
While checking on the kids taking a dip in the lake

Together we will enjoy the sight
The lake, the trees, the flowers, the sky
Together we will enjoy the smell of nature
And spend nights watching the stars,
Neighbours of the moon

I remember when I first saw you
Upstairs in an antique shop seated among your peers
You looked old, but
When I put my hands on you, you stopped aging
And you started rocking

Reason for writing:

Well, I just can't wait to have a cottage, sit in my rocking-chair, drinking a beer.
