FOR WHAT REASONS AM I TO BE CONTENT?

by Byron Keith Mills - Not entered

            FOR WHAT REASONS AM I TO BE CONTENT?

For what reasons am I to be content...
With these sharp judgments you have now proclaimed?
And such foolishness, that I must repent
My wisdom (which I've too harshly contained).
Forgive me, if I seem at total loss
To such reasoning (if it can be called so);
Nor I nervous tensions easily toss
Away...when you these purile tantrums throw!
I thought you more integrity contained
Yet I am, apparently, mistaken...
And know nothing of your dark deeds sustained
Even less...of ANY pains you've taken.

     Claims you were wronged, to these charges I say:
     To each guilt belonged, and so we both pay...

                         -x-
