as if I had not known it...

by Matto - Scorpio - Not entered

------------------------------------------------

as if I had not known it, I would see my sun again;
but it shown as if by protest, with a lonly summer’s rain.
I peeked between my fingers, so I might not hurt my eyes;
but clouds were all that lingered, up against the solemn rise.

how does one begin to feel as if the world were new;
when light that would befriend this field, is but obstructed view?
the life that I had hoped to live, passed long into the night;
and left behind for me as gift... a freedom far from sight.
