First We Are Parents

by Stephen Tucker/Leo - Not entered

You are not my successor
Nor am I yours.
I am not your suppresser
Nor are you mine.

But rather we stand as equals;
Through the continuity of space and time.

Though we have many differences
we share a common goal.
To prepare our child for the adult world,
and it's possible toll.

Your title that of mother:
The one who loves with kind, caring, femine way.

Mine that of father:
With ideas of fishing, hockey, and motor cars;
will show him the manly way.

With so many requirements that each of us must do,
However will it be possible,
if you and I can't get along too.

Yes we are individuals with our own ideas and thought;
But we must remember we are the common parents
to that sweet little innocent tot.

Reason for writing:

    To establish a communicational link with my separated wife,
to express our shared obligations regarding our son.This is
dedicated to the love of my life Stephen Douglas Tucker Jr.
