Waiting Alone You want to know what disappointment is? See, I know. Been there. Done that. Many times. Too many times. Wait by the phone. Anticipate. Fantasize. Sometimes it hurts being so creative. And you wait. By that damn phone. Planning. Dreaming. Just keep that line open. Ever pick it up just to make sure it has a dial tone? And sometimes the call does come. But you won't. Because it came hours after you have turned down other arrangements. Other dinners. Other phone calls. And now they are just too tired. So you slip out of the black bra and you go to eat Chinese alone. Again. What freedom. What independence. This being alone thing is just great.
