Forever Gone

by adrift {gemini} - Not entered

Your stifled cries keep you awake all night.
The pain is too hard to endure.
They’ve closed the box, and you’ve just had
The last glimpse of what was unconditional love.
The tears flow freely, and you doubt they’ll ever stop.
Her flowing hair no longer flows.
Her beautiful voice no longer sings.
Now there is silence.
As you try to continue life, all you hear is silence.
And that brings the tears again.

Reason for writing:

A really good friend of mine, who moved across the country about a year ago just lost her mother. I don't know what to say when she calls anymore, and I can't help but feel her tears.
