Untitled

by Chris -- Aries - Not entered

Out of the forest and over the wall,
Running from one and hiding from all,
The black thief comes riding,
The land unabiding,
Feeling the warmth and the tug of the call.

Death on his heels and is catching up quick,
In on them now and then out like a wick,
The bright stars are dancing,
The horses are prancing,
Smells of their doom in their nostrils are thick,

Over the hilltop and down through the hollow,
Mischief is dark, and darkness is callow,
The black thief comes riding,
The land unabiding,
After the day which taunts him to follow.

Daylight has answers for all those who seek them,
Far in the distance offering freedom,
The darkness to lightness,
The phantoms to brightness,
Few are the ones who enter the kingdom.

Still they come calling and hoping to please,
Cure all their illness, their wishes achieve,
The black thief comes riding,
The land unabiding,
Striving for answers he'll never receive.
