the garden green

by s christiansen~pisces - Not entered

i saw him in the garden green
his skin matched tones of petals there
the sight of me, my sight unseen
no rosy shades or sunlit hair
his eyes stood out like diamonds though
masked reflections of winter white
wherever he walks i would know
he's step on me and die i might
to hear his voice i'd question thee
he sang his words their pleasing tone
blessed with superiority
his inner strenghts i find unknown
only he can put me to sleep!
to lay so still and in so deep!

doubts are ringing in my head
his touch, his smile, his stare
there i lay i'm almost dead
and when he comes awaken i dare
too smooth his touch on my fair skin
his enchanting presence brings me joy
unending sadness i feel within
my heart a drum he makes employ
the garden's leaves stay still today
tomorrow they may all fall down
his warmth i feel and fade it made
my thoughts of him i find profound
only he can put me to rest!
to earn his love my only test!

Reason for writing:

The words of a poet can be so magical. The inspiration comes for me
only so often. To share that new wave of expression is exciting and I
am glad I can contribute to the world of poetry.
