too cold my fears of unknown land too weak my knees to hold my walk across the dusty sand where tales of death are told sun scorched plants and dried up streams from flame that heats the day mighty rivers have lost their dreams the unpaved trails are there to stay each step i take i try again the road climbs much too high the mighty mountain which once began my struggle in this life the moon has gone and dissapeared the earth below is cold i'm left in land that i once feared my trembling knees to hold standing tall the trees around now cover the vacant land protectors of this feared surround i clench the soil in my hand too soon the dark falls too early for the light my ears await the screaming calls the creatures of the night yet i know again the morning sun will dry away the tears heat born and when it's done will take away my fears too cold my fears of unknown land too weak my knees to hold each day a constant battle and each day my fears unfold
