What makes a poem More than words Jotted madly on a blank page More than a sentence Or phrase of oft-muttered cliché Than political speech How does a poem Show feelings inside Show love and madness Show anger and fear Show sadness and depression When words-upon-a-page Are just words Not the emotions themselves What makes a poem differ From a simple verse Or a sentence Broken As it were In indavertent Places? Or rhyming along the way A poet¹s chance to pass the day? Perhaps that tried-but-true Cliché of poems being what poets write Is right Then what do we non-poets scribble Or are these just rantings And meaningless dribble
Reason for writing:
Just some thoughts that came to me one night...Birth sign: Not entered
