The Babe

by Sharon -Aquarius- - Not entered

As the new day dawns the babe awakes
It's mouth ajar; it's hands ashake
Unaware of eyes above that watch it cry
Imprisoned by a clear plastic sky
It's life controlled by tubes and wires
Incapable of obtaining that which it requires
A simple flick, a life has ceased
It's spirit free and pain released
A long beep fills the room as nurses rush
As it's heartbeat stops, the babe is hushed

Reason for writing:

Just one of those nights when I was feeling inspired, plus I find it easy to write about things that I love (children).
