The Accident

by Tracy Aries - Not entered

The sudden stop,
The crash through glass,
The twist of steel,
It doesn't seem real.

The flow of pain,
The cold, hard pavement,
The piercing scream,
All a bad dream?

The sight of sadness,
The tremendous hurt,
The loss of a friend,
The pain never ends.

I was the one,
Who wanted some fun,
If only I didn't drive,
She might still be alive.

Reason for writing:

The reason behind the poem is drunk driving...I am against it in every way.
This is a poem about someone who killed their friend by drinking and driving. My intention was to put the reader in the place of the driver.
