The Vampire's Dance

by Amanda A. Hawley - Gemini - Not entered

"Come with me and we will dance,"
He said and clasped me by the hands
He pulled me to his strong embrace
and I stepped from my sheltered space

We waltzed across the star lit night
I, on the verge of crippling fright,
He held me fast and said to me
"One and the same we now will be."

Into my neck his teeth bit deep
My mortal life fell into sleep
I watched the world with eyes divine
I was my love's and he was mine

We danced through my first vampire night
Until we saw the dawn's first light
Then, shelter from the sun we found
In resting far under the ground

I'll never see my beauty wane
I'm free from death and free from pain
And every night he'll dance with me
From now and to eternity
