Little Flower

by Ruth Ann Christopher - Not entered

Little raindrops..falling down..
for a thirsty flower..on the ground..
Then the sun..comes out to shine..
and feeds the flower..for a time..
 Pretty Flower..all bloomed out..
and in the breeze..it sways about..
Then the sun.. goes down and hides..
  and the pretty flower..folds inside..
 Slouching down..it sleep so tight..
and there it stays..all through the night..
And early at the break of dawn..
   the flower wakes..to stretch..and yawn..
and it unfolds..its bud to be..
beauty for the world to see.

Reason for writing:

I have a rose bush in my yard with one little flower on it
and I noticed that it closed up each night and was there
when I woke up in the morning to greet me with its beauty.
