Our Moon

by Sam, Sagittarius - Not entered

See our moon shining it’s beacon down to me,
pointing me the way to my Susan Marie,

Looking down on me, the old man seems to say,
“Go west, young Sam, for a happier day”,

He tells me she is waiting there,
lonely, sad, in misery, waiting to care,

She’s waiting by her window, looking through the glass,
teary eyes looking for me, nothing getting past,

I’m waiting to hold her, tight within my arms,
I’m waiting to kiss her, taste her sweet charms,

I waiting to love again, like never before,
I waiting to atone, of that I’m sure,

Atonement for not truly loving you, for not letting you be,
atonement for being blind, for not being able to see,

Now I see so much better, now it’s all too clear,
of how I lost my one true love, the one I hold so dear,

For now I bear this cross of mine, a cross of pain and guilt,
my days are dark, the sun doesn’t shine, the flowers all wilt,

I caused her so much heartache, not listening with my heart,
I want to try, to finally hear, but now we’re apart,

I pray to the heavens, I wish deep inside,
for you and I to be as one, my love I cannot hide,

I am sorry for the pain I caused, for hurting you still,
find room to forgive me, loving you, I always will.

Written for Sue, June 5, 1996.

Reason for writing:

Again, this was written for the love of my life, my Sue.

Pray with me that one day her and I will be reunited.

Thank you.
