My Son, Jacob

by Sam, Sagittarius - Not entered

My son is so beautiful,
my son is so wise,
for 4 years old is all he is,
but mightier than his size.

He has a deep wisdom,
he shares it with me so,
from his mouth he tells me,
things that I should know.

He has a caring nature,
and it is so true,
that when he gives me a hug,
my hearts splits in two.

For when he offers me his hand,
and I take his within mine,
I take it with trepidation,
his face it does shine.

He cares for others deeply,
loving each and all,
wanting to help with all his power,
helping others who fall.

He has helped me to see things,
he has opened my two eyes,
he questions with such innocence,
innocence he can’t disguise.

What I wish for when I grow up,
what I pray for still,
is that I could be half as wise,
as he always will.

Written June 10, 1996, for my son, Jacob, who asked some pointed questions,
and made some convicting statements. I love you Jacob.

Reason for writing:

The nature, personality, and love of my son inspired me.
