They march in here and tell us all that we are out of place They march in here and tell us all that we are a disgrace They talk behind our backs to others Often our own sisters and brothers They even tell our dads and mothers to put us in our place You say they can't You say they won't You say they never do But sure enough they'll get you The christian wrecking crew Unless you turn to Jesus And take your eyes off them Set your eyes on Jesus Take them off your friends Don't put your trust in others Just put it on the lord So when they come a marchin and tapping on your door Open your door and let them in, but set your eyes on the lord They say they've come for coffee But talk about Gertrude You want to tell them to be quiet But that is very rude They sit and talk for hours They tell you what to do They'll tear you all to peices The christian wrecking crew But do not hold a grudge on them Or tell them they are crude Just simply turn to Jesus And pray for the wrecking crew When the book is opened What will it say about you I hope your not a member Of the christian wrecking crew Lift up your brothers Lift up you sisters Never tear them down Lift them up, uphold them Don't run them in the ground They talk about Fred They talk about Sue They talk about me They talk about you They'll talk about anyone The christian wrecking crew
