fireflies

by socrates stamatis - Not entered

we are just fireflies,
  brief flashes in the vastness
of time and the endless night
  of the world
believe in the world as you would
believe in life and be not as alive
as death would have you believe
  no, and neither will I
but if I could only wish away the night
and dream the dream of life for ever
  and never meet the stars
but I never could and never will
and to never have opened my eyes so wide
  bright and intense like your
  look, that watches the world
  and never cries

Reason for writing:

It was always inside of me :P
