The Poisonous Drink

by Angela Williams/Libra - Not entered

A sweet young girl full of hopes and dreams,
knows what she wants and how to get it.
Strong morals and firm beliefs,
that's what she has been taught.
With that in mind she grew,
only to have her dreams fall quickly apart.
Tempted by the poisonous drink which she accpeted.
Unknowing of its unpredictable powers,
she drinks it without precaution.
The years slowly pass her by,
full of obstacles that she doesn't understand.
The hopes and dreams she once had
now seem impossible to accomplish.
Left alone in her tiny room, she ponders,
the mysterious ways of the poisonous drink.

Reason for writing:

I wrote this poem about what alcohol can do to your life, what it did to my life, as an inspiration to keep me away from drinking.
