Untitled

She sits, alone, at the back of the room,
Tapping her pencil on the desk in tune,
Raising her hand to share with them a thought,
But her presence was long before forgot.

On to the scribbled note drops a tear,
Washing away pen, evading her fear,
Taking her mind to her own special place,
Where you're judged by your thoughts, and not by your face.

Nonchalantly joining reality
She sees smiles on their faces, looks of glee,
Longing, wanting to smile like they do,
Seeing them smile just makes her heart more blue.

Asking God why her differences are so,
Her frown drops further, her heart is so low,
Asking God why they don't even try,
To smile, or chat, or bid her goodbye.

Tapping on her desk a melancholy tune,
The pain of rejection continues to loom.

Reason for writing:

Sometimes everyone feels rejected, be it by one person or a group. It hurts, until you find that maybe it's for the best, and find people that are like you, or that you can be yourself around. But that time in between, the time alone is solitary and depressing. Keep a smile on your face, and in your heart.
