Love and Pain

by daisy lynn cain - Not entered

I don't know what to do,
I don't know what to say,
     To make the memories stop,
     To make them go away.
I try not to think of those times,
But no matter what, they flood my mind.
     Wipe them off,
     Black them out,
When everyone says, "Don't you pout"

The way I speak, one must think they are bad,
But the memories I try to forget aren't very sad.
They are beautiful and full of love,
And would cause one to think of a soft, white dove.
I am sad, for I will make no more.
Me, my love no longer adores.......
     Now I know only pain,
But, love and pain, are they not one and the same?

Reason for writing:

I wrote this after a fight i had with my husband....
He later laid my fears to rest.. but it did make for a nice, sad poem...... *smile*
