I Wonder

by Luke Van Hamblen: Virgo - Not entered

I Wonder why I hate you,
I Wonder why I cry,
I Wonder if the sky is blue,
I Simply wonder why,

I Wonder what the hell to do,
I Wonder if Aesop lied,
I Wonder why I can't get over you,
Or did I even try,

I Wonder what chords you play,
I Wonder what you think of me,
I Wonder 24 hours a day,
Do you fear guns or H.I.V.

I Wonder if god listens,
I Wonder if she's an ugly girl,
I Wonder about all the christians,
With all their golden pearls,

I Wonder why I hate you,
I Wonder why I cry,
I Wonder if the sky is blue,
I Simply wonder why.

Reason for writing:

I wrote this poem because I had had a lot of thougths in my head
for a long time. I had an extreme case of writers block, and this was the
point of return. I wondered if in 200 years, the sky would still be blue.
It occured to me that people fear the AIDS virus so much that if a guy asked
them if they wished to be shot or infected with H.I.V., which one they would
choose. The line about Aesop come from when my mom read me Aesops Fables, a
collection of stories about animals that taught you morals. The line about
god is probably the easiest to understand. I wonder if he cares about modern
people and if he listens to their prayers. I hope you enjoyed it.
