When Your Eyes Met Mine

by Jeremy Kirk Truax - Not entered

I was there, so were you, and a lot of people too.
Through the crowd, I sought you out,
not knowing what this was about.
It seemed like it was my destiny,
and when I saw you, something came over me.
And all this time, I did not realize,
what I was doing, till to me, you turned your eyes.
It seemed we gazed for hours, though it really wasn¹t long,
but slow motion made it last, and my heart sang a new song.
A great sensation shot through my body, and as I wondered what it was,
my heart started beating faster, and my head began to buzz.
It stopped as suddenly as it appeared,
we both went our ways, I went to bed feeling weird.
I thought about your pretty sight,
and dreamed about you all that night.
Will this continue and be divine?
Whatever God¹s will, it shall be fine.

Reason for writing:

I was at church one night and I was looking at this girl and I didn't know I was looking at her. When suddenly, she looked right back at me and "BOOM!" something snapped. So, since I was pretty good at writing poetry about experiences I had been through, I wrote this poem about that night. I wanted to submit this poem because I want other people to be able to read it.
