Gone

by Jessica Lynn - Libra - Not entered

As I stand here in the sun,
Watching kids have fun,
I think of all the lives we've lost,
The ones that weren't yet done.

I just don't understand
Why there's been such a demand
For the lives
Of husbands and wives,
Child and pet,
People we've just met.

Why have they been taken?
What did they do wrong?
I just don't feel like breaking
The hearts that once were so strong.

Reason for writing:

This poem won 3rd place in a creative writing contest, others have told me to publish it. I decided to put it in here because I want comments from other people. I wrote it because one Sunday, my sister's best friend, his brother and mother all died in a car accident on the same day that my friend's father and uncle died, (in a different car accident). We all went through hard times, and this is dedicated to them. I enjoy coments, both posative and negative, so please write.
