Lovers' Game

by Marianne - Not entered

With his bow, and arrow ready
along with an impeccable aim
Cupid sets out on a journey
to launch the Lovers' Game.

First on his agenda
is to search for a woman, and man
to observe their compatability
so he may continue with his plan.

Once he's found a couple
he commences with a stance
Prepares for the final moment
by taking one last glance.

Hands tighten on the weapon
as he pulls the arrow back
Adjusting his position
before he instigates his attack.

Glorified in victory
as he realizes he's won
The arrow's penetrated both their hearts
and now his job is done.

Gleefully gloating, on he must go
to see if he can find
another twosome to fall victim to
the Lovers' Game on Valentines'.
