I Was a God

by Aaron Schultz - Not entered

When I was younger..I used to pretend that I was god..Squatting on the asphalt..Next to an Antpile, I decided the fate..The fate of Thousands..Just like god..Squashing the ants...With my thumb..The bottom of my thumb..Pressing down hard...SO hard...That my thumb had the imprints of the concrete in it..The ant was dead though..And I felt like godI took the Hose..The green garden hose, on the side of the house..With the spray nozzle..Turn the water on..Spray them all..Watch them drown..Running in a panic..And only god can cause a flood..and I was godI took the lighter..And the blue can of Wd-40 from the garage..Light the lighter, watch the flames fly. Scorch them all. All of them. ...The poor wretched, helpless ants..And only god can send fire from the sky..And I was godNot something poor, and helpless...Like the ants I was killing, like the child I was..I was an unmerciful god..full of wrath..full of fire..I was god.

Reason for writing:

Memories from childhood..The desire to control everything
