Memories, etched upon the windows in my mind, Heartfelt thoughts, remembered for all time, Picturing when, I last beheld your eyes, Remembering how painful are goodbyes, Seeing you from the dockside pier at noon, Knowing that you weren't returning soon, Teardrops, flowed as if they were a stream, How I wish I could hold you tightly, Jean, Moonlight only casts upon my heart, Memories, reminding me, we're still apart, Hoping that the ferry, that once whisked you away, Will soon be the means, that brings you here today. I find comfort that, I soon will see your eyes, Knowing that, we'll no longer trade goodbyes.
Reason for writing:
Written while pondering the moments that I last beheld Jean, along the pier, Puget Sound, Seattle, WA.Birth sign: Not entered
