Would You?

by Natalie J. Case - Not entered

If I said that I needed you
Would you hold me in your arms tonight?
If a tear slipped heavily passed my cheek
Would you wrap your arm’s around me tight?
If I whispered softly another’s name,
Could you pretend you didn’t hear
And softly kiss my lying lips
While laying with me here?

If I told you that I loved him
And my heart was his alone
Would you turn from me that perfect face
	With a tiny little groan?
Would a tear slip from your love-filled eyes
Would you take your heart away
To a place beyond my needy touch
To await the dawn of day?

If I swore I’d never see him,
		Want him, need him, cry,
would you know without a doubt inside
That I’d simply told a lie?
If I give myself to you tonight,
Though my love you’ll never be,
Would you take what I am offering
And make sweet love to me?

Reason for writing:

My mother said this one was sick,...but I have to admit that
it would be easier to give myself to someone who loved me
than to spend my life alone...
