My Heart

by Kristine Mangosing: Scorpio - Not entered

Scattered fragments of shattered dreams
an endless river of uncried tears
A heart of stone full of regrets
dark shadows of anxious fears

Desperate pleas for an new day
seeking escape from anguished pain
Looking for the sun
to bring tomorrow, to stop the rain.

Rising with the dawn
scattering ribbons of light
Your rays reach out for my abandoned heart
I surrender without a fight.

A love that knows no bounds
a heart carelessly set on fire
Dampened spirits quickly recovered
soaring higher and higher

Soft kisses and you sweet caress
words unspoken in the dark
Quiet breathing, steady beating
of my resurrected heart.

Reason for writing:

This poem was just a simple way for me to express how my boyfriend
taught me how to love again in the midst of painful and traumatizing
experience.
