Looking back love, I do still recall, It began before the early fall, Before the summer birds sang in tune, In the springtime, flowers in full bloom, I remember you were saying then, That it was I who needed a friend, But if you ever had needed someone, That I would then try to be the one, To help, to console, and comfort you, If you grew used to being used too. Then the summer came and passed, Our love still grew and though quite so fast, The days seemed long, the nights still longer, Over that time, our love grew stronger, We didn't know then what we know now, That our love some way, somewhere, some how, Had blossomed into a love so true, And that we both just felt and knew, That no matter it be an uphill climb, We'd be together somehow in time.
