Never Again

by A. Morgan (sagitarius) - Not entered

I have given up all that is dear--
"Now she who is far will never be near.
And never again shall my words pass
Slowly from my soul to her soul at last.

For the sake of love, I banished love...
What in the world was I thinking of?
I rue that I made the greatest mistake
That I will ever have the chance to make.

But I think he may be right, it was not my place,
And thus I forswore the sight of her face,
Leaving nothing in this shell of a heart
But bitter pain that will never depart.

--To Jen Dinsel.

Reason for writing:

This poem was written after I promised upon my honor never to see
or speak or write to my closest friend. My word is my honor, and my
honor is my life. It was dishonorable to come between her and her
fiancee, and thus I promised him (in a heated argument).

And thus shell is gone, and will always be gone, for I hold to my
word even if it hurts like hell.
