How Long

by Lawrence J. Henriques, the Snowman - Not entered

How Long...

My love, when I can behold you,
The intense devotion within your eyes,
Compels me on to just hold you,
My heart sailing upward beyond the skies.

How long can I be absent, dear,
From the sweet lady whose heart is so true,
How long can I dispel the fear,
Of being so long and so far from you.

My love, when can I be near you,
So close we can share a long, warm embrace,
Lost within your smile and eyes too,
Softly tracing the features of your face.

How long can I be absent, dear,
From the sweet lady whose love is so deep,
How long can I dispel the fear,
When the price of your absence is so steep.

My love, when can I caress you,
And comfort you during the long, cold night,
Your presence then so tranquil too,
As we intertwine, holding you so tight.

How long can I be absent, dear,
From the sweet lady whose heart is so true,
How long can I dispel the fear,
Of being so long and so far from you.

Reason for writing:

As always, my inspiration is the wonderous lady, known as
Jean Louise, of Sidney, British Columbia, wishing there were
words that could eloquently capture how very much I long to
be sharing an embrace, and showering her with love.
