and the silence is gone

by Natalie J. Case - Not entered

You say you love me and I turn away
		my heart pounding with fear
		and deeply passionate emotions
Your face turns cold as my silence reaches you
and your cold anger and resentment
		resonates around the room
Vibrates off the walls, and through me
		and still I fear
		more than I feel
You say good-bye and leave my world
the sounds echoes in this room,
		echoes in my heart
Shattering the fear with piercing pain
bringing to my lips these words
		I love you...
	and the silence is gone...

Reason for writing:

I watched someone I cared for make this mistake...he was too proud to say
what he was feeling, until it was too late, and then his feelings over ran his
pride...
