SUICIDE

by Ali Baker Cancer - Not entered

The woman with the tearstained face lifts her black veil
And looks in the casket, at a body so pale.
Suddenly more tears tumble from her eye
As she looks at her child, too young to die
I struggle to look at the body lying there
To see who it is with the face so fair.
Then the woman steps away and I can see
That in the casket lies the body of me

Reason for writing:

After comptemplating suicide, i realized the impact it would have on my family and friends.
