Player Piano

by Jason Gagnon - Aries - Not entered

And the people on the street are dancing
dancing to the softly played sounds
    that are all they hear
The quietly threaded tunes accepted unconditionally
Living with no thought.

Dancing to ease the pain that would
    come with stopping
The magiced shoes relentlessy pushing them
to dance the goose stepped dance.

They dance the only dance they remember-
    Unaware of eachother
    Unaware of themselves
Only to the music do they belong.

Reason for writing:

You don't have to tell me how much you hate it, or how Un-American
I am for writing this, I've heard enough of that. But I do
want to know where anyone can see it could be improved. I've
spent five months, on and off, working on this, and have hit deadlock.
What do you think I'm saying with this poem? It's VERY open to
interpretation. Thank you.
