Across the Waters

by Lawrence J. Henriques, the Snowman - Not entered

Every day that passes
Is one day closer, closer to my heart,
Every night that passes,
An evening closer, closer, though apart,

Every hour that passes,
With you love, I soon so much hope to be
Every minute that passes,
Seems more and more like an eternity.

And I will send a carriage,
Across the mountains,
over the highway to the sea,
And the ferry which will carry you,
over the waters here to me.

Every mile that passes,
One mile closer, closer to my heart,
Every league that passes,
One more league closer, closer, though apart,

Every hour that passes,
With you love, I soon so much hope to be
Every minute that passes,
Seems more and more like an eternity.

Do not fear my sweet love,
If you should be caught,
On top a rough or stormy sea,
I will still the frightful waters,
Until you are back home with me.

Reason for writing:

Jean Louise of Sidney, British Columbia, inspired this and all
of the thoughts that I share, so much longing to soon be with
this wonderful, sweet and most gracious lady...
