My Heart's Desire

by Lawrence J. Henriques, the Snowman - Not entered

Like springtime flowers near the ocean shores,
Turning towards the sun for nourishment,
So does my heart long to be close to yours,
Those days so near to you are heaven sent,
I would thereby be forever content.

Like green moss on a fallen forest tree,
A new life brought forth from near nothingness,
So does my heart cling to your love freely,
With heartfelt gratitude for your kindness,
I would thereby be suffused with gladness.

Like smooth stones within a high mountain stream,
Caressed by the crisp coolness of water,
So does my heart feel touched within a dream,
Emerged within love so soft and tender,
I would thereby be engulfed with splendor.

Like a breath upon a fresh summer breeze,
I yearn to kiss the moist air you exhale,
So does my heart desire to touch softly,
Speaking without words as language may fail,
Life would thereby be a real fairy tale.

Reason for writing:

Jean Louise fills my heart with such gladness, it is so hard
to find the words that are worthy of her ear, but I shall always
strive to fill her experiences with joyful memories, and kindness,
as she has given me so much happiness.
