I. Awake, ignored, and in an alter world, the churlish one gazed at the strange room. So familiar, yet so far away, he longed for the cold and the stars. An awkwardness irreconciled with his general good feelings. He had thoughts of retribution but sealed over the rotten times and sick looks and went with all things considerate. He wondered why he was there but it did him no good!! II. And the strange apparition of an obsession glowed on.... The background screams fit in too well. And still, ignored more, he sprawled where he had for many hours. He wondered if he was hated, or even worse, uninteresting. And the right wrong ways were back again. Amen.
Reason for writing:
I am very much annoyed by people who think that watching TV is more important than their human brethren. This poem was inspired by a recent experience that reminded me of this. I was a friend's guest, and instead of paying attention to me, who she invited, she was transfixed by the damn TV. First it was a cheesy movie, then it was the X-Files. I understand that that can be a transfixing show. But couldn't she have taped it? I don't think that TV should be a very important component in anyone's life. And in hers it is, alas, way too important.Birth sign: Not entered
