The Waiting

by Lawrence J. Henriques, the Snowman - Not entered

It's a cool and empty evening,
I hope it will pass by soon,
The only light within this dark night
Is that which is cast by the moon.

I hope you aren't feeling lonely,
You know, love, I really do care,
If it were that I now could be,
I most certainly would be there.

It's a long and trying evening,
I hope it will not last too long,
The only hope that helps me cope,
Is tomorrow will bring a dawn.

The sky seems so dark and gloomy,
Though, somewhere you are out there,
The stars shine so ever faintly,
Touching the stillness of the air.

It's so hard a journey waiting,
I have to believe, not despair,
The only place, that can erase,
Is to at this moment just be there.

I can't go to sleep pretending,
As if, my love, you were not true.
And tomorrow will just find me,
Much more deeply in love with you.

Reason for writing:

Reposted for those of you, that haven't seen this one yet,
it epitomizes the heartfelt longing that I have endured,
awwaiting the arrival of the love of my life, Jean Louise
of Sidney, British Columbia, Canada....
