Dragon Slayer

DRAGON SLAYER

So smoothly life sails by
When you are far from my mind,
but then suddenly
As if a surge of energy flashes carelessly
past my eyes,
and engulfs my whole body
Your presence is prominant,
And upheaves all that I've hidden.
Like the prince that fights the dragon
My heart slays all thoughts of hate
wanting nothing
but the survival of my love for you.
and the tears I weep
when you defeat me
are not those of sorrow--
For your conquer over me
is my gain too,
but if we lose the battle,
if the dragon beats us both
the fight in us is over
you then vanish
and life so smoothly saild by
until
the dragon falls asleep again.
