Knocking At The Door

by Mouse - Capricorn - Not entered

I heard you knocking at the door
What you had come here for
I surely did not know.
Thinking back on times of old
I remembered how it once had been
The two of us together
Hand in hand walking alone
I wasn’t ready to commit
But you didn’t give up so easily.
You stayed by my door
And knocked and knocked and knocked.
I screamed with frustration.
Why couldn’t you just go?
I guess I must have meant a lot
For you to stay that long.
But it was too late
For when I answered the door
You were already gone.
As I turned back to my house
I started to cry
As I realized how much
You had really meant to me.
Why couldn’t I just see
That you were the one for me?
